We are currently looking for a graduate to join us in summer 2021. As part of our team, you would receive a great deal of focused training and attention, be closely involved with our client work and have the opportunity to take ownership of your work early on.
This role would suit someone personable, intelligent and hard-working, eager to learn and ambitious for a successful career. Being interested in the world around you, reading and consuming news is a ‘must’; an interest in either data or social media (or even both) is a bonus. Right from the start, drafting will be a fundamental part of your role so it is vital that you have an excellent grasp of spelling and grammar as well as rigorous attention to detail.
The person we appoint will receive high-quality, focused training and attention over a long period of time. We will seek to introduce you to clients and give you client-facing work as early as possible. We are looking to recruit someone eager to learn with the qualities needed to contribute to the development of our thriving business from Day One of their employment, whilst also understanding that full-scale training takes years, not weeks or months.
As a small team, everyone is expected to muck in with the smooth running of the business and office. You will need to be the kind of person with the common sense and organisation needed for tasks like arranging meetings and video calls as well as the social-ease needed for interacting with clients.
Please send both of the following:
Your CV (no need for a covering letter)
A video, lasting between three and five minutes, briefly introducing yourself and telling us about your three favourite words and three worst words. We’d like to know the words you’ve chosen and why. Feel free to use Dropbox or similar if the file is too large to send.
And complete ONE of these:
Precis this podcast in 400 words.
Some people say the young should have been prioritised first for Covid-19 vaccines. Set out your view in 400 words.
Find out the most common first names among MPs. Tell us what you found and how you went about it. Use up to five charts or diagrams to set out your findings and up to 150 words of text.
Imagine you are an adviser to your current/former university. What advice would you give them on their use of social media, and why? Max 500 words.
To be clear, that’s three tasks in total: your CV and video, plus one of the choices listed.
Please email your application to Anna Lemer at by 17 May 2021.
All shortlisted applicants will be invited to an online interview at the end of May/beginning of June. Assuming the situation allows, up to three of these will be asked to spend a few days in our office before a final appointment is made. All expenses will be paid.
